Got questions? You’re in the right place. Here’s everything you might want to know about Rising Yogis.

FAQs

  • Rising Yogis is for children and teens of all ages — from Reception through to exam-age teens. Our classes are open to everyone, including neurodiverse and sensitive children. All are welcome.

  • Each session is thoughtfully tailored to the age group and energy in the room. We combine yoga-inspired movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and moments of stillness — always in a way that feels safe, accessible and enjoyable.

For younger ones, we might include storytelling, song and imagination. For older children and teens, sessions often include guided breathwork, mindfulness, and physical yoga practices such as vinyasa-inspired flow or restorative poses — alongside space for rest, reflection and regulation.

  • Not at all. Rising Yogis is for every body and every child — no experience, flexibility or fitness required. The emphasis is on wellbeing, not performance.

  • We offer sessions for:

    • Little Yogis (ages 4-7)

    • Growing Yogis (ages 7–12)

    • Teen Yogis (ages 13 - 18)

Classes are always adapted to suit the age, needs and energy of the group.

  • Classes typically run between 30–60 minutes depending on the age group and setting. I’ll always let you know timings in advance when booking.

  • All children are welcome. I bring over a decade of experience working in secondary education, including in pastoral care, and I’m trained in trauma-informed approaches. My classes are inclusive, emotionally safe spaces where children can participate at their own pace.

  • Yes — I offer yoga and mindfulness sessions for both primary and secondary schools, either as regular classes or one-off wellbeing workshops. These sessions support emotional regulation, focus, and resilience.

School-based work is the heart of Rising Yogis, and I tailor sessions to fit your timetable.

Yoga can be integrated into the school timetable as part of the PSHE programme, tutor time, extra-curricular clubs, or within PE lessons.

Please reach out to discuss what might suit your school community.

  • Rising Yogis classes are designed just for children and teens, giving them their own space to connect and grow. In some community settings, parents are welcome to observe if it feels supportive, though this isn’t usually possible in schools.

  • Rates vary depending on the class type and setting. I’m happy to share full pricing info for schools and other settings on request, and I always aim to make Rising Yogis accessible.

  • Yes. I hold an enhanced DBS check, full public liability insurance, and up-to-date safeguarding training. I am also a fully accredited and insured member of Yoga Alliance Professionals, ensuring high standards of safety and teaching practice.

  • In primary schools, I usually teach whole classes alongside the teacher or teaching assistant, or smaller extra-curricular groups.

In secondary schools, sessions often run as clubs or within PE lessons, where I teach the group independently. In community settings, I keep group sizes small and supportive, with a maximum of 12 children so everyone feels safe and seen. This helps create a nurturing, age-appropriate space for all.

  • That’s completely okay. Children are encouraged to join in at their own pace, and there’s never pressure to perform. Simply being present in a calm, regulated space can have a positive effect — even without active participation.

  • Yes. I’m a fully qualified yoga teacher with specialist training in children and teens yoga and mindfulness practices, as well as trauma-informed practice. I have over a decade in secondary education, with a strong background in pastoral care and wellbeing support.
